In the 1960's, Hanna-Barbera pioneered the art and business of creating timeless animated content for television. As CEO of the company that owned HB for 25 years, Charles Mechem helped write the story of the company that invented prime time animation. Under the leadership of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, beloved animated characters like Fred Flintstone, Scooby-Doo, and George Jetson leapt onto our TV screens and into hearts.
With the creation of Mechem Media, we have put the band back together to create new, timeless content. Great storytelling and memorable characters is part of our legendary animation heritage, our DNA. It's who we are...
Mechem Media is crafting new IP/shows for the digitally savvy young generation, who are watching our shows on iPhones, iPads and Apple/Google TV. We are not just creating shows, we are building timeless, multi-platform brands. Indeed we are back to the future.
In total, we have 25 IPs in various stages of development, from embryonic to fully-baked. We are expanding to create not just animation, but also live action television and feature films.
We are crafting new, modern programming that viewers can embrace and interact with across traditional TV, web, mobile and emerging media.
We don't just create and produce animation. We support our multi-platform productions with the proven digital strategy and expertise necessary to make premium animated video projects successful and appeal to audiences and advertisers alike.
Many of the shows we have in development include casual mobile/social games as a parallel component, through our sister company, First Post Studios.
